Giclée (zhee-klay) Prints on Canvas
In French "giclée" translates as, a spray of liquid. "Giclée print" connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images generated of high resolution digital scans of original oil paintings are printed with archival quality inks onto canvas. Proofs are inspected and color corrected by the artist. This provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. Colors are more vivid than they appear on the computer screen. The result is amazingly close to the original oil painting. The canvas is sprayed with a protective coating ans should be displayed stretched and framed without glass like the original oil. Prints are signed in the image and shipped rolled, ready to be stretched and framed.
